Where It Began
The story began in 2001, when Grant and Sharon McGill met Poppie Mashego, a social worker who was assisting them with the adoption of their son, Thulani. Through Poppie, they became aware of the difficult circumstances faced by children in need of care and protection.

They saw that while some children were provided with physical protection, many still lacked the emotional care, belonging and family environment they needed to heal and grow.

What began as a God-inspired passion to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children led Grant and Sharon to establish Sinethemba Hope House and open their own home to children in need.

From the beginning, their heart has been to give children more than a place to stay. They wanted to create a home where children could experience the love, stability and belonging of a family, while being supported to grow, develop and become independent.

What started with one family opening their home has grown into a family that has welcomed and supported hundreds of children over the years.

Today, Sinethemba continues to be a place of hope, where children are loved, supported and equipped to become independent, confident and capable adults.
Over the Years
Through the generosity of supporters, volunteers and the faithfulness of God, we have been able to care for more and more children, creating a loving family.
